The Hetfield Estate Residential Development is a low-density project consisting of seven custom single-family homes with accessory dwelling units (ADUs), located on an approximately 6.75-acre hilltop development area within a larger 58.2-acre parcel in Moraga, California. Sher Construction Inc. is serving as the General Contractor on this project, overseeing and managing the construction of all project components from start to finish. Our scope begins with the construction of seven custom single-family homes and ADUs, supported by full site development including mass grading, underground utilities, storm drainage systems, retaining wall construction, private roadway improvements, and coordination of creek crossing access, while preserving over 50 acres of permanent open space with public trail integration. A key highlight of this project is the execution of complex hillside construction in an environmentally sensitive setting, where development is carefully coordinated with natural features and regulatory requirements. This includes:

Construction across steep terrain with precise grading and elevation control
Integration of retaining wall systems to stabilize building pads and roadway alignment
Installation of subdrains and drainage benches to manage upslope runoff
Construction of a detention basin to control stormwater during rain events
Coordination of creek crossing infrastructure, including bridge access
Managing weather-related challenges, including rain impacts on soil conditions and construction sequencing. Implementation of erosion and sediment control measures to protect surrounding open space
